Don't miss the highlights of the Surselva hiking tours: the Greina Plateau, the Val Frisal, the Rhine Gorge, and the Gradwanderung (grad hike) from Obersaxen to Lumnezia. Arriving by train is particularly relaxing. Intercity trains via Basel-Zurich, Lindau (Germany), or Feldkirch (Austria) take you stress-free to Chur. From the capital of Graubünden, the Rhaetian Railway takes you through the spectacular Rhine Gorge to Ilanz or Tavanasa in just 36 minutes, from where a short post bus ride takes you to your destination. In summer, you can travel over the nearby Oberalp Pass; in winter, you can take a leisurely train ride. Incidentally, the route is part of the Andermatt-Sedrun-Disentis ski region, meaning two cantons, one ski area, and everything connected.
